Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra dummy unit: new camera bar, one less lens

A Galaxy S27 Ultra dummy built from leaked CAD files shows a horizontal camera bar and a single telephoto. What changes, what doesn't, and when it may launch.

A dummy model of Samsung’s Galaxy S27 Ultra, built from leaked design files, has given people their first physical look at next year’s flagship, and the biggest change is on the back. The familiar column of separate camera rings is gone, replaced by a single horizontal camera bar across the top, with one fewer lens than the S26 Ultra.

That is why “Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra dummy unit” climbed Google’s searches in Pakistan on Wednesday. Samsung has not shown the phone or confirmed anything about it.

Where the dummy came from

The tech site Android Headlines built the dummy from CAD drawings shared earlier this year by the leaker OnLeaks, who has a good record on Samsung designs. It is a hollow, logo-free black shell with no screen or battery, the kind case makers use to cut moulds before launch. Photos of it spread on 3 and 4 November.

An earlier set of dummy units, shared in August by the X account @wallegalaxy and probably from accessory makers, pointed the same way: almost the same body, a redesigned camera area.

What the S27 Ultra dummy shows

  • Camera: a horizontal, pill-shaped plateau at the top instead of the vertical “traffic light” layout Samsung has used for several years. The dummy suggests a single telephoto camera instead of two; reports differ on whether the 3x lens is dropped.
  • Size: 163.76 x 78.25 x 7.97mm, a hair bigger than the S26 Ultra’s 163.6 x 78.1 x 7.9mm.
  • S Pen: the slot is still there.
  • Cases: most S26 Ultra cases will probably not fit because of the new camera area.
  • Wobble and magnets: a wide camera bar should stop the phone rocking on a table, and moving the lower camera out of the way leaves more room for magnetic chargers and accessories. Whether Samsung builds magnets into the phone is still unknown.

How much to trust it

Dummies are good for shape and size, not for what is inside. Earlier Ultra dummies were broadly right on design but said nothing about cameras, chips or battery, and small details often change before launch. Chip rumours are especially messy this year, with reports linking different Snapdragon and Exynos chips to different S27 models.

When will it launch in Pakistan?

Samsung usually unveils its Galaxy S phones in January or February, and reports expect the S27 series in early 2027. Samsung Pakistan has typically opened pre-orders within days of the global launch, so the first official look and local prices should come together early next year.
