Maria B velvet suits winter 2026: 6 wedding formals from Rs 25,990
Maria B's new velvet formals run from a black kurta set at Rs 25,990 to a pink lehenga at Rs 65,990. We picked six for the wedding season and how to wear them.

Velvet is back on Maria B’s racks, and this season it is doing most of the heavy lifting in the brand’s Luxury Formals line. The new winter pieces range from Rs 25,990 for a black three-piece to Rs 65,990 for a full velvet lehenga, and all of them are stitched, so there is no tailor to chase two days before a baraat.
We went through the line on the brand’s own website and picked six that cover different budgets and different events: a dholki, a mehndi, a barat as a close relative, and a walima where you want to look polished without outshining the bride. Prices below were checked on Sunday, 1 November, and may change.
The easy entry: black velvet with grey
The cheapest of the six is a black velvet shirt with a hand-embellished overlap neckline and a border picked out in diamantes, at Rs 25,990. The trouser is grey raw silk and the dupatta is a grey medium silk with lace on all four sides, so the outfit reads as two-tone rather than all-black. It is the one to buy if you want a single formal that works for three or four winter dinners. Pair it with silver jewellery, not gold, so the grey does not look accidental.
Rust velvet with gotta: mehndi and dholki
At Rs 45,990, the rust suit has a block-printed, embroidered velvet shirt with gotta lace and little gotta drops along the sleeves and hem, a rust raw silk trouser and a Bemberg chiffon dupatta with a four-sided embroidered border. Rust is kinder to most Pakistani skin tones than bright orange and photographs warmly under mehndi lights. Keep the jewellery antique gold and let the gotta do the shining.
A jacket and culottes in deep red
The Rs 40,990 “deep red” set is the most modern cut here: a front-open velvet jacket with a shawl collar and pearl drops on the sleeves, worn over a spaghetti-strap raw silk blouse and embroidered velvet culottes. It suits women who find long kameez heavy. For a family event, a fitted inner with sleeves under the jacket works just as well.
Blue velvet with crystal drops
The blue suit at Rs 42,990 keeps the classic straight kameez and trouser shape, with crystal and pearl drops hanging from the border and sleeves and a net dupatta. Blue velvet looks rich at night and is less common at weddings than maroon, which helps in group photos.
Two lehengas for the big nights
For a barat or a sister’s nikkah, Maria B has two velvet lehengas. The pink one, Rs 65,990, pairs a hand-embellished sweetheart-neck blouse with a belted velvet lehenga and a net dupatta, finished with sequin, tilla and thread work. The coffee-coloured one, Rs 60,990, is quieter: a velvet shirt with gotta-ball drops over a spray-embroidered velvet lehenga and a contrasting red silk dupatta. The coffee set is the better buy if you want to rewear it; brown-gold sits well with both gold and kundan.
Is it worth it?
These are not budget clothes, and velvet is dry-clean only, as the brand’s own care notes say. But every piece is ready to wear and the embellishment is done for you, which is where much of the cost of a formal suit goes. If you will wear one outfit to several winter weddings, the black or blue suit gives the most use for the money. If you want one showpiece, the coffee lehenga is the more versatile of the two.
Sizes and stock move fast once the wedding season starts in earnest in late November, so check the size chart on each product page before ordering.
