GTA 6 pre-load date: PS5 and Xbox download starts 10 November, 212GB
Rockstar has moved the GTA 6 pre-load to 10 November. Exact times for Pakistan, how much space you need, and why boxed copies come with a code, not a disc.

Rockstar Games has confirmed that Grand Theft Auto VI can be pre-loaded from Tuesday, 10 November, nine days before the game unlocks on 19 November. Anyone who has pre-ordered a digital copy on PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S can start the download that day, and Rockstar says you will need up to 212GB of free space.
That is why “gta6” was back among Pakistan’s top Google searches on Wednesday. Pre-loading only puts the files on your console; nobody can play before launch day.
GTA 6 pre-load time in Pakistan
The two consoles open at different moments, according to Rockstar’s announcement:
- PS5: midnight local time on 10 November. In Pakistan that means the download should appear as Monday night turns into Tuesday, at 12am PKT.
- Xbox Series X|S: midnight GMT on 10 November, which is 5am PKT on Tuesday.
- Release: Thursday, 19 November, on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S only.
The earlier word had been 12 November, so digital buyers get two extra days.
How much space do you need?
Up to 212GB, depending on the console. That is close to the roughly 210GB figure that leaked before Rockstar confirmed it. Many players will need to delete a few games first. On a slow home connection a download this size can take a day or more, which is the real reason pre-loading matters in Pakistan.
Boxed copies come with a code, not a disc
Shops can start selling boxed copies on 12 November. Those editions contain a download code rather than a disc, so buyers of physical copies still have to download the full game, and their pre-load starts from the day they redeem the code.
Rockstar is also releasing a free printable cover-art poster and a map of the game’s state, Leonida, on its website on 10 November, with a double-sided printed poster sold through its store.
What about PC?
There is still no PC version. GTA 6 launches on consoles only, and Rockstar has not given a PC date; reports expect one later, possibly in 2027.
The next big moment is review day: reviewers have started receiving copies, so the first verdicts should land before 19 November.
