AC Milan beat Inter 3-1 in the Derby della Madonnina at San Siro on Saturday night, 31 October, handing Inter their first Serie A defeat of the season and knocking them off the top of the table. All four goals came in the first 43 minutes.

How the derby was won

Milan scored twice in the first ten minutes. Christian Pulisic finished Diego Moreira’s cross in the 4th minute, and Adrien Rabiot made it 2-0 in the 10th after another Moreira delivery.

Inter hit back in the 22nd minute: Manuel Akanji flicked on a Hakan Çalhanoğlu corner and Alessandro Bastoni scored. For twenty minutes the game was open again. Then Moreira, already the best player on the pitch, curled in a free kick in the 43rd minute for 3-1.
