Reliance Jio 10000 rupees plan: 3 years of unlimited 5G, calls and data

Jio's new Rs 10,000 prepaid plan gives three years of unlimited 5G, calls, 2.5GB a day and 100 SMS, about Rs 278 a month. What you get and what is missing.

Reliance Jio has launched a three-year prepaid plan for Rs 10,000, the longest recharge any big Indian operator has offered, and “reliance jio 10000 rupees plan” shot to the top of India’s Google searches. The plan is on sale from 7 November through the MyJio app, Jio’s website, Jio stores and recharge shops.

What the Jio Rs 10,000 plan gives you

  • Validity: 36 months (about 1,095 days)
  • 5G: unlimited 5G data where Jio’s 5G network is available
  • Daily data: 2.5GB a day of high-speed data
  • Calls: unlimited voice calls
  • SMS: 100 a day
  • Extras: JioHotstar Mobile subscription, Canva Pro Lite for the first 12 months only, and 50GB of JioAI Cloud storage
  • Effective cost: around Rs 278 a month

Jio says the price and benefits are locked for the full three years, which is the real selling point: Indian operators have raised tariffs several times in recent years, and a long plan protects you from the next increase.

What is missing

Some perks attached to Jio’s other recent plans, such as a Google Gemini Pro offer and extra cloud storage, are not part of this one, and the Canva subscription runs for only the first year. You also pay the whole Rs 10,000 at once, and if you switch operator or lose the number, that money is gone.

Who it suits

People who keep one SIM for years, parents recharging for children or elderly relatives, and anyone who wants to avoid monthly recharges. Heavy users who need more than 2.5GB a day outside 5G areas may find the daily cap tight.

Why Pakistanis are watching

A three-year locked price is something no Pakistani operator offers, and Jio’s move shows where the region’s mobile market may be heading as 5G spreads.

The question now is whether Airtel and Vi answer with long plans of their own.
