Ghaziabad police outpost blast: UP ATS probes low-intensity explosion and claim
A low-intensity blast at a police outpost in Ghaziabad injured one person. UP ATS and intelligence agencies probe an online claim by an obscure group.

Security agencies in Uttar Pradesh launched a comprehensive investigation on Saturday, 7 November, following a low-intensity blast at the Vasundhara police outpost under the Indirapuram police station limits in Ghaziabad.
The explosion, which shattered glass windowpanes and caused minor structural cracks, left one delivery worker injured by flying debris. The injured worker was shifted to a nearby hospital and reported to be in stable condition.
Investigation underway
Teams from the Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), local police, and forensic science laboratories inspected the site to examine residue and reconstruct the incident:
- Forensic analysis: Officials are examining whether the explosion was caused by an improvised device, a chemical mixture, or a mechanical component such as a pressurized canister.
- Online claim scrutinized: Shortly after the incident, a social media post under the moniker “Tehreek-ul-Mujahideen Hindustan” surfaced claiming responsibility with an Urdu audio voiceover.
- Skepticism from investigators: Senior police and intelligence officers treated the claim with caution, stating that online claims from previously unverified or dormant handles are frequently circulated to trigger alarm and panic.
Heightened vigilance across NCR
Ghaziabad police said vigilance has been intensified across sensitive checkpoints, transport hubs, and public spaces in the National Capital Region (NCR).
Authorities urged citizens to refrain from spreading unverified rumours on messaging apps while forensic experts finalise their preliminary technical report.
