Petrol price in Pakistan today: Rs377.91 till 2 November, diesel up Rs2.29 to Rs402.96
New OGRA rates run from 31 October to 2 November. Diesel rose again, petrol held. Full rates, the tax in each litre and the levy fight.

Diesel has gone up again. From Saturday, 31 October, high-speed diesel costs Rs402.96 a litre, Rs2.29 more than the Rs400.67 rate that took it past Rs400 on Friday. Petrol stays at Rs377.91 a litre.
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) issued the new rates on Friday evening, and the Petroleum Division said they will apply until Monday, 2 November. That makes it the second diesel rise in two days: the previous notice added 85 paisa while also holding petrol.
Fuel prices from 31 October to 2 November
- Petrol: Rs377.91 a litre (no change)
- High-speed diesel: Rs402.96 a litre (up Rs2.29)
How much of each litre is tax
Petrol carries about Rs114 a litre in taxes and duties, and diesel about Rs100, mostly the petroleum levy. That levy is why opposition parties say the government could cut prices if it wanted to.
Jamaat-e-Islami chief Hafiz Naeemur Rehman met Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday, and the two sides agreed to form a joint committee to look at widening fuel relief. Rehman has said his party will march on Islamabad in mid-November if no major relief is announced.
Why prices change every few days now
Since 17 July, OGRA has set fuel prices on a short cycle instead of weekly, after Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik said international prices were moving too fast for the old system once fighting between Iran and the US resumed. Prices follow recent average global rates.
Those global rates are still high. Brent crude rose 2.4% to about $113 a barrel on Friday. For perspective, diesel was around Rs281 when the war began on 28 February and peaked at Rs520.35 on 3 April, while petrol topped out at Rs458.41 the same day.
What diesel at Rs402 means for you
Diesel runs Pakistan’s trucks, buses, tractors and many tube wells, so even a few rupees feed into transport fares and the cost of moving vegetables, wheat and cement. Petrol users get a short pause.
The government’s fuel relief scheme, running since 17 September, still covers motorcycles, rickshaws and cars up to 800cc. The next price notice is due on Monday, 2 November.
