Wedding season clutches and khussas under Rs 5,000: 8 picks from Limelight, Stylo and J.
Four Limelight clutches and bags plus four festive khussas from Stylo and J., all under Rs 5,000, to finish the formals you already own.

Most of us already own the wedding suit. What we end up buying in a panic the night before the mehndi is the bag and the shoes. So here are eight that are all under Rs 5,000, from Limelight’s new bags and the festive khussas at Stylo and J. All of them were on the brands’ own websites on Sunday, 1 November, at the prices below.
Four bags from Limelight
Signature Clutch, mauve (Rs 3,490). A slim fold-over clutch with gold-tone link hardware, a thin chain strap and a magnetic catch, about 10 by 5.5 inches. Mauve is the quiet hero colour of the season: it sits well with dusty pink, sage, grey and ivory suits, and it does not fight with heavy embroidery.
Gleam Clutch, beige (Rs 3,250). If your outfit is plain, let the bag carry the shine. This one is covered in sequins and beads, has a chain strap for crossbody wear and a divided inside with a zip pocket. Beige and gold go with almost any colour.
Hammered Mini Clutch, golden (Rs 1,699). A small, hard golden clutch with a hammered texture, mirrors on both inner sides and a detachable chain. At 4 by 2.5 inches it takes a phone only if your phone is small, plus a lipstick and keys. It is the cheapest way to finish a formal look, and the inside mirror is genuinely handy at a mehndi.
Flap Handbag, rust (Rs 4,990). For the walima or a dinner, when you need room for more than a lipstick. It has a sculpted gold-tone clasp, a metallic-trimmed flap and a chain-and-strap handle, 8 by 6.5 inches. Rust pairs beautifully with velvet in maroon, bottle green and black.
Four khussas for the functions
Stylo White Ethnic Khussa (Rs 3,200). A smooth silk vamp with a golden beaded starburst and scattered pearl dots, gold piping and a cushioned footbed. Stylo itself suggests it for nikkah ceremonies, and it is the one to buy for white, ivory and pastel outfits.
Stylo Mehndi Ethnic Khussa (Rs 3,200). Mehndi green with geometric thread work, beads and sequins on a textured upper and olive piping, made, in Stylo’s words, for mehndi functions and dholki nights. Wear it with yellow, orange or green and you are done.
Stylo Maroon Fancy Khussa (Rs 3,000). A traditional maroon khussa with decorative work for velvet season. Maroon shoes under a maroon or black suit lengthen the leg line in photos.
J. Off White Khussa (Rs 2,990). J.’s off-white khussa has soft pink floral embroidery and is the cheapest of the four, a pretty everyday-festive pair for a family lunch, a dholki or a daytime wedding in pastels.
How to choose
Pick one metal tone for the whole look: if your jewellery is gold, choose the golden or beige clutch; if it is silver or pearls, go for mauve. With khussas, size up if you are between sizes, since closed-toe khussas run snug before they soften. Stylo lists available sizes on each page; some sizes were already sold out when we checked.
