Nishat Linen cape shawls 2026: 6 winter wraps and coats from Rs 4,490

The cape shawl is the winter piece Pakistani women keep asking about, because it solves an old problem: a normal shawl slips off the shoulder every time you pick up a child or a plate. Nishat Linen has put a whole row of them on its website this week, alongside wraps and a long coat, and they sit between Rs 4,490 and Rs 14,990. We went through the new arrivals and picked six. Prices were checked on Sunday, 1 November.

The off-white cape with a fur collar (Rs 9,990)

This is the dressiest of the lot: an off-white cape with a soft faux-fur collar and fur cuffs on the arm openings, closed at the neck with a toggle. On Nishat’s own photo it is worn over cream trousers, but it works just as well over a pastel shalwar kameez for a winter nikkah or a daytime walima. Keep jewellery small; the collar is already the statement. Light colours show marks, so plan on dry cleaning.

Dark brown open cape (Rs 8,990)

The dark brown cape is the most practical. It falls loosely from the shoulders, open at the front, long enough to cover the hips, and it goes over anything: a black kurta, a printed khaddar suit, jeans and a long shirt. Brown hides dust and rickshaw rides better than black, and it pairs with camel, cream, rust and olive.

Burgundy cape (Rs 6,990)

The Rs 6,990 burgundy cape has a soft, textured knit look and a shorter, vest-like fall. It brings colour to a navy or black outfit and is the cheapest way into the cape trend in this line. The same cape is also listed in green and light grey at the same price.

Two classic shawls at Rs 4,490

If you prefer a regular shawl, the navy and the pink women’s shawls are Rs 4,490 each. Nishat lists the navy at 62 cm by 180 cm and the pink at 62 cm by 200 cm, so these are narrow, stole-style wraps rather than big chaddars: easy to throw around the neck over a coat or to drape on one shoulder over a kameez. Navy is the safer everyday choice; the pink is softer and works well for dholkis and family lunches.

The brown long coat (Rs 14,990)

For the coldest weeks, the brown long coat has a stand collar with buttons, full-length cuffed sleeves and deep pockets. It is cut long and straight, so it sits neatly over a kameez without bunching at the hem, which is the problem with most western coats over shalwar kameez. Wear it with black trousers and a cream shawl for an office look that does not try too hard.

What to buy

If you get one piece, make it the dark brown cape: it does the most work across a whole winter. For weddings, the off-white fur-collar cape gives the most polish without competing with a formal suit. Nishat’s product pages do not list the fabric content for the capes, so feel the fabric in a store if you are sensitive to wool or synthetics, and check the size note on each page before ordering.
