Gul Ahmed winter collection 2026: 7 khaddar, karandi and velvet picks under Rs 13,000
From a Rs 3,990 embroidered shawl to a Rs 12,990 karandi suit, these are the Gul Ahmed winter pieces worth your money this year, with fabric and fit notes.

Gul Ahmed’s winter 2026 range is now fully on its website, and the useful news is that most of it stays under Rs 13,000. The brand has leaned on three fabrics this year: khaddar for everyday, karandi for something a little dressier, and velvet for winter dawats. We looked through the new arrivals and picked seven pieces, from a shawl to a festive velvet set. Prices were checked on Sunday, 1 November.
Unstitched: the karandi suit with an embroidered dupatta
The most complete piece is a three-piece unstitched karandi suit at Rs 12,990. You get 3.4 metres of embroidered karandi for the shirt, with embroidered borders for front and back, 2.5 metres of dyed karandi for the trouser and a 2.5-metre embroidered karandi dupatta. Karandi has a dry, slightly grainy feel and holds warmth better than lawn without the weight of wool, which makes it the right fabric for Lahore and Islamabad evenings. Give it to your tailor with a straight cut and let the borders run along the hem.
The budget khaddar: printed three-piece on sale
If you only want something warm for home and errands, the printed khaddar three-piece (WNS-62010) was marked down to Rs 4,493 from Rs 5,990 on the day we checked. It comes with a printed khaddar dupatta, a printed shirt with an embroidered neckline and a dyed trouser. Sale prices on this line change often, so check before you order.
Ready to wear: two co-ord sets
Gul Ahmed’s ready-to-wear side has gone heavily into co-ord sets this winter, and two stand out. The sage green karandi co-ord (Rs 8,490) has a ban collar with a V neckline and fine lacework on a loose-fit shirt; it looks good with a camel shawl and white trainers or flat khussas. The blue khaddar slub block-printed set (Rs 6,990) has a V neckline with lace and tassels, a regular fit and a print that leans traditional. Both are made for daytime: university, office, a lunch at your in-laws’.
Velvet for winter dawats
For evenings there is a maroon velvet shirt and trouser at Rs 11,990, with embroidery around a keyhole neckline. Maroon velvet is the safest winter formal colour there is; add jhumkas and a gold clutch and it works for a mehndi or a family dinner. If you already own plain kurtas, the brown embroidered velvet waistcoat (Rs 7,490) is the smarter buy: it is front-open with a round neck and turns a plain black or cream suit into something festive.
A shawl to finish
The mustard acrylic embroidered shawl is Rs 3,990. It is large, 44 by 100 inches, with playful embroidery and tassels along two sides. Acrylic is not pashmina, and it will not feel like it, but it is light, easy to wash and holds its colour. Mustard goes with navy, olive, black and white, which covers most winter wardrobes.
Our verdict
The karandi suit is the best value if you have a tailor; the velvet waistcoat is the most versatile piece; and the sale khaddar suit is the cheapest way to get a proper three-piece for winter. All of these are on Gul Ahmed’s own store, and sizes for the ready-to-wear pieces are on each product page.
