Petrol is Rs9.41 a litre cheaper and diesel Rs5.56 cheaper from Friday, 6 November: the fourth cut in four days. The new rates and why they keep changing.

Petrol in Pakistan costs Rs352.59 a litre from Friday, 6 November, after the government cut it by Rs9.41 on Thursday night. High-speed diesel falls by Rs5.56 to Rs382.25. It is the fourth price cut in four days, and comes only a day after the last one, which brought petrol to Rs362.
The new rates (from 6 November)
| Fuel | Old price | New price | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
| Petrol | Rs362.00 | Rs352.59 | -Rs9.41 |
| High-speed diesel | Rs387.81 | Rs382.25 | -Rs5.56 |
Over the last two revisions alone, petrol has come down by Rs16.47 a litre and diesel by Rs9.27, according to the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) notices.
Why prices change every day now
The Petroleum Division moved to a daily price review after oil markets turned volatile with the renewed fighting in the Middle East. Prices are worked out under the government’s pricing formula, which follows international product prices (Platts rates) and the exchange rate.
That formula has been working in drivers’ favour this week. Crude oil slipped to a two-month low after the US midterm elections, as traders bet on a calmer outlook for the Iran war, and the rupee has held steady.
What it means for you
For a motorcyclist who fills 10 litres a week, the last two cuts alone save about Rs165 on each fill. Diesel matters more for prices in the shops: it runs the trucks and goods transport, so a cheaper litre can slowly show up in transport fares and food costs, if transporters pass it on.
Because the review is daily, prices can also go up again just as fast if oil rises. Check the latest rate before planning a long trip, and note that petrol pumps switch to the new rate at midnight.
The next review is due on Friday.
