Sarah Khan on Good Morning Pakistan: Falak is 'Abu Bakr's father'
On Nida Yasir's show Sarah Khan joined the Abu Bakr craze with a twist about husband Falak Shabir, and showed daughter Rania's face on TV for the first time.
Every couple in Pakistan seems to be measuring husbands against Abu Bakr this month, and Sarah Khan had the best answer yet. Asked about it on ARY Digital’s Good Morning Pakistan on Wednesday, 4 November, she said her husband, singer Falak Shabir, isn’t like Abu Bakr; he is Abu Bakr’s “Abu”, his father.
It was a joke with a point. Sarah went on to explain what she meant, and the clip has been doing the rounds on Instagram and YouTube Shorts since the show aired.
What Sarah Khan said about Falak
Host Nida Yasir started it, saying that these days everyone is acting like Abu Bakr even though nobody really is like him. Sarah’s reply was that Falak might get called Abu Bakr because he is so close to the character, and then went one better with the “father” line.
The reason she gave was calm. She said she used to panic easily and get anxious whenever something went missing, and that Falak taught her the value of composure, a calm he has himself. Being with him, she said, also made her more understanding of other people.
That is the quality fans love in Abu Bakr, the character Sheheryar Munawar plays in Umera Ahmed’s Dar-e-Nijaat on ARY Digital: a man who stays steady while everyone around him is falling apart. Actors Ramsha Salahuddin and Rabia Javaid Sheikh had compared their own husbands to him a few days earlier, so Sarah was joining a running conversation, and she won it.
Rania on TV for the first time
The other moment people noticed was quieter. Sarah shared pictures of her younger daughter, Rania, on the show, and said this was the first time the child’s face had been shown on any media platform. Until now the couple had kept her out of the public eye; elder daughter Alyana has been seen on their accounts for years.
Nida Yasir said Rania shares several features with her big sister and looks like her father, and added that it will be easier to say who she takes after as she grows. After the show, Falak posted photos of Rania on his official Instagram.

Sarah and Falak married in 2020 and have two daughters. On screen she is known for dramas including Sher.
