Sahibzada Farhan ICC T20I ranking: Pakistan opener climbs to No. 2, 14 points off the top
Farhan is now the world's second-best T20I batter on 883 points, behind Abhishek Sharma. See where Abrar, Saim Ayub and Babar stand in the new list.

Sahibzada Farhan is now the second-ranked T20I batter in the world. The ICC’s latest men’s rankings, released on Wednesday, 28 October, move the Pakistan opener up one place to No. 2 with 883 rating points, the best figure of his career.
Only India’s Abhishek Sharma is above him, on 897. Ishan Kishan, who led the list two weeks ago, has dropped two places to third on 866.
Why the table changed
Farhan held his rating after Pakistan’s 2-1 T20I series win over Sri Lanka, but the bigger moves came from India’s series in New Zealand. Abhishek’s century in the third T20I lifted him to the top, while Kishan slid after missing the second and third games with an injury.
The gap between Farhan and No. 1 is 14 points. One big innings in Pakistan’s next T20I series could close it, which is why his name was among the top searches in Pakistan on Thursday.
How Farhan got here
The big jump came at the 2026 T20 World Cup, where Farhan scored 383 runs at an average of 76.60 and became the only batter to hit two hundreds in a single T20 World Cup. He has stayed in the top three for most of the months since, swapping places with the two Indian openers.
What stands out in his game now is control in the powerplay. He no longer has to choose between scoring fast and staying in; he does both, and that is the profile the rankings reward.
