Esra Ayesha and Zayb Khan, two of the best-known faces from Tamasha Season 5, are married. The couple married on Monday, 26 October, and shared their nikah on Instagram with a set of white-and-gold photos, a little over two weeks after the reality show ended on 10 October.
For viewers who watched the two grow close inside the Tamasha house, the posts answered the question fans had been asking all season.
What did Zayb Khan write?
Zayb’s caption opened with the translation of a verse from Surah An-Naba, “And We created you in pairs”. Then he wrote: “Alhamdulillah Alhamdulillah Alhamdulillah, I can’t believe how this has unfolded. Indeed Allah is the best planner.”
He thanked everyone who had prayed for them, called Esra “this piece of peace” in his life and his “begum”. It is a caption built around gratitude rather than a love story, and it suited the photos.
The look
Esra wore white and gold, with soft makeup and delicate jewellery; nothing loud, which made the photos feel personal rather than staged. Zayb matched her in a white shalwar kameez under a coat in purple and blue tones. Makeup and photography were credited to Khawar Riaz.
The ceremony itself was small. The couple shared the nikah and a separate photoshoot rather than a big event, and that restraint is part of why the pictures travelled so fast.
Adnan Siddiqui’s wish, in Urdu
Tamasha 5 host Adnan Siddiqui wrote his congratulations in Urdu, because, he said, Esra understands Urdu better than English. “Who would have thought that a journey which began as Tamasha would transform into such a beautiful love story?” he wrote, ending with: “Esra and Zayb, here’s to your everlasting happiness!” Other Tamasha 5 contestants also posted their good wishes.
How it started on Tamasha
Viewers spotted the bond early. When Zayb was eliminated, a result that surprised several housemates, Esra’s emotional reaction became one of the season’s most-shared moments. Esra went on to finish as runner-up. In an Instagram Live after leaving, Zayb said he had asked fellow contestant Hassan to look out for her, because she was going through an emotional time.
Reactions
The comments under the posts are almost entirely congratulations. The banter has already moved on to who might be next: on a live video call this week, fellow contestant Yasir Alam laughed off fans’ hopes of a match with Samiya Hijab, saying the two are just good friends.
For now the attention is on the newlyweds, and on whether the couple share more from the ceremony in the coming days.
